Recent News: ATU and The Metaverse Institute to Shape Africa’s First Metaverse Governance Framework
In recognition of this partnership, the ATU welcomed a high-level delegation from ICANN to its headquarters in Nairobi. The ICANN team was led by Mr. Pierre Dandjinou, Vice President of Global Stakeholder Engagement for Africa, and was received by ATU Secretary General, Mr. John Omo, who led the Secretariat in extending a warm reception.
The meeting provided a platform for fruitful discussions on regional and national opportunities to enhance digital connectivity across Africa. Key topics included accelerating IPv6 adoption, strengthening digital inclusion, and identifying avenues for deeper collaboration under the Coalition for Digital Africa, an initiative dedicated to fostering sustainable digital growth on the continent.
